The Drawing Board

A new collection can take up to two years to produce, because finding an idea for a new collection is only the first small step. After the seed is planted, it is nurtured with research from books, museums. Design concepts, color schemes and early sketches are constantly criticized and restyled until the final two or three perfected designs are chosen to be realized in enamel and gold.

The hardest part for the designer-artist is to select a few design elements from a myriad of possibilities coming from the source of inspiration, whether that be a famous artist or an artistic style. These carefully selected motifs must then be adapted to each individual jewelry form, so that each piece becomes a new work of original art!
